I think the news is the UAD-1 is no longer being developed for The new Neve plugs have been developed for both UAD 2 and 1:p Its only some of the high power plugs that they haven't coded for UAD 1. And thats been the case for quite a while. You don't need to be a sherlock to know UAD-1 will eventually be left behind. The Fatso has been on the cards for yonks now! That's the only plugin i would have liked but i'm not going to buy a UAD-2 just for Fatso.

To even suggest the new Neve plugs are merely tweaked version of their current Neve plugs, just goes to show how little you understand about engineering plugins. Of course they do. The difference being, UAD charged me $1000 and gave me a card that's five times as powerful as my old one.Oh.did I mention I can use it in any DAW I want.:-) Oh yeah, they also gave me $250 credit for plugins at the same time. I bought a 25k system and then paid for mp3 and OMF support.but I digress. Amp farm anybody.? UAD is not the 'angel' company some would like us to believe it is.I don't disagree, but when it comes to marketing and customer relations, I much prefer UAD to digi. Not that they're perfect, but UAD strives to be as compatible as they can.

According to the UA video this is a pretty intensive model that might be too much for the current TDM cards. They could still go RTAS as Waves have done with their Tony Maserati plugs.

Why wouldn't they?? Thats absurd. Having UAD plugs available for Pro Tools can only be good for PT and probably good for UAD. There reason for stopping TDM was Digi started to give away Bomb Factory plugs with PT purchases and there was direct competition for the same plugins! (1176, 3A, 2A, etc) But if UAD made Fatso for TDM and RTAS:eek: they would sell pallet loads (virtual pallets of course) Chris. Ask Digi why, precisely, UAD, SSL Duende, tc Powercore, Focusrite Liquid Mix, and the Lexicon PCM96 ALL don't want to have an RTAS license and sell directly into the huge and well-monied Pro Tools market. Why ALL of them would rather have to work through bugs in the fxPansion wrapper and put asterisks on their marketing materials. Be honest TC and Focusrite did TDM version of their plugs, there apparently not as anti-digi as you imply. And the bugs exist on the AU version too ( thinking Duende and Lexicon there).
