It is working!! I bought A Sony Nas 50hde 2 days ago and have managed, after some problems, to connect it to my computer via the network. Connecting to the internet was no problem. At first I entered my computer name, share name, username and password, but that did not work. I then noticed on page 36 of the manual that you could also use the IP address instead of computername. I did this AND removed the space from the sharename just incase (I have seen systems that do not like spaces).

And it all works great now. I've just got one of these and potentially it could be a good piece of kit. There are a couple of silly faults – the wire for the speakers is far too short, for example – but it has a good sound, looks good and lets me get rid of all the junk around my system. Looking through CDs is so boring.

However, the designers were obviously in a hurry! I do expect to be able to remember what music I have but I don't want to scroll through dozens of albums to find the one I want. There's no system of grouping music or for finding it and it seems like I'm going to have to rename every album to make it quicker to find – at the moment the display will just say “The very best of” so I need to press more buttons to make it scroll. And while I'm doing all this, I can't play any music! Sony, you could do better. I’ve just got one of these and potentially it could be a good piece of kit.

I've had one of these for a couple of years now and after some intial headaches connecting to the wireless network it was running fine. Then I changed broadband supplier to BT and have not yet been able to reconnect since.

A call to Sony today says I should have had a USB wireless dongle in the box, but I don't ever recall having that (I bought a Buffalo wireless adapter seperately when I first got the unit). She then informed me that I could order one from their spares dept (a company called Nedis), but when I called them there was nothing listed according to their system. Come on Sony, get it together! Anyway - I will call Sony again on Friday when I have the day off (because their support is only open 9-5!?) and run through it with them over the phone - step, by step. Too many companies could take a leaf out of Apple's book on useability and interface. I agree that the scrolling/menu system is a bit cumbersome and tyring, but the 'recommendation' setting is great for dinner parties.

I have just spoken to Sony and they tell me that you cannot connect to the internet wirelessly to update Gracenotes and find a CD. So everytime I want to put some new music on the Giga Juke I have to connect it by a cable to the router to get on the internet. Not fun when the PC and router are upstairs and the Giga Juke is downstairs. I have tried following the instructions to connect to the internet without sucess hence the call and now frustration. How is everyone else managing to update Gracenotes? Hi - I am also having problems connecting to internet with giga juke. It is no problem to contact with cable direct to router but have just bought a wifi usb adaptor and not really got a clue how I get it to connect to internet wirelessly as like others here my router is not in the same room as my hifi.

I have put usb adaptor into rear of giga juke but nothing. I have tried putting in my sky internets IP address etc but nothing - have spent hours and now soo frustrated at this. Am I missing something fundamental? Honestly - driving me mad. Any help would be appreciated but remember I am not very I.T literate so simple terms would be great. I did notice a note on this site saying judt to plug usb into giga juke and then network device into router - what network device is this?? I am just not I.T.
